Welcome to the practice, which is owned by Robert Segal M.D. 

Your Surgeon/Physician: We would like you to know that Dr. Bruce Yaffe is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine since 1982 and Gastroenterology since 1983 and is licensed in the State of New York.  Dr Yaffe graduated from George Washington School of Medicine in 1976. He continued to complete his Internal Medicine fellowship in 1979 followed by his fellowship in liver disease at Mount Sinai Hospital in 1980 and finished his gastroenterology disease fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital in 1982. You may request his C.V. which we keep on file.  His training is extensive in the field of Gastroenterology.   Should you choose to have surgery at this organization, Dr. Yaffe will be the only one performing your surgery. 

Your Anesthesia Provider: The OBS has an exclusive contract for the administration of anesthesia with Dr. Graziano Carlon, a licensed physician in New York State with Board Certification in Anesthesiology and a Certificate of Special Competence in Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Carlon completed his training in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, both in New York City. Dr. Carlon then practiced for 25 years at Memorial Hospital for Cancer and Allied Diseases, in New York City, serving as Chief of the Critical Care Service for 10 of those years.

Dr. Carlon has been practicing office-based anesthesia since 2003, and has had an exclusive contract with Yaffe Ruden OBS since November of 2005, participating in over 20,000 upper and lower endoscopies with Dr. Bruce Yaffe.

Should Dr. Carlon not be available, coverage is always provided by a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist, with extensive clinical experience with upper and lower endoscopies.

The Team: Our team is made up of competent individuals that will assist in providing safe patient care. Cynthia Martinez has been with our OBS for 15years and Kathy Rodriguez who has been with our OBS for 13 years.
